😌 On world mental health day, we think it’s important to highlight how important it is for our volunteers to feel well supported with their mental health and wellbeing ✌🏻

We have a dedicated mental health first aider at Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes who has shared the following insight into his valuable role here

‘’As a qualified Mental Health First Aider, my role is to spot the signs of NBB members experiencing poor Mental Health.

I'm confident enough to start a conversation, listen non judgementally and signpost volunteers for any appropriate support. As well as just providing a shoulder to lean on. You'd be surprised how much better people feel when they just get things off their chest!

Any interaction I have with members is totally confidential.

Everyone has good and bad mental health depending on what is happening in their lives.

We want to make sure our members can operate at their best and avoid any burnout from overcommitting.

With this service we provide, this demonstrates how NBB takes the welfare of their members seriously.’’

🍻🏹 The Nottingham Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival is back from tomorrow at Nottingham Trent Cricket Ground! 🏹🍻

The Nottingham CAMRA Club have been proud supporters of Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes for many years, and we’ve been privileged to attend this fantastic event time and time again.

This year, the festival will be raising money for a truly life-changing cause ❤️ Maggie's Nottingham, in memory of the wonderful Tim Pollard. Many of our volunteers and supporters had the pleasure of knowing Tim and sharing a pint (or two!) with him at past festivals 💛

We’d love to see everyone supporting Maggie’s this weekend, just as generously as you’ve supported us over the years. Every penny raised will make a real difference to people and families facing cancer 🫶🏼
