On Saturday 14th December 2024, Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes had the profound honour of unveiling and presenting our latest life-saving Blood Bike in a deeply moving ceremony during half-time at the Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa match.
This special bike has been named in memory of Ian Coates, allowing his legacy to live on. Ian’s bike will now serve the people of Nottinghamshire, delivering life-saving blood for the NHS—a fitting tribute to a man who meant so much to so many.
Thank you to Nottingham Forest for their incredible support and for providing stunning pictures and footage from the day. We’re also grateful to BBC Nottingham for covering this emotional event and helping share the event with the wider community.
Rest in peace, Ian Coates. Your legacy continues to make a difference.
