Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes
Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes is a Charity (Registered in England & Wales No 1155983) set up by volunteers in 2013 to provide an out-of-hours emergency transport service to the NHS, to deliver blood and other urgent medical supplies such as platelets, plasma, samples and medical records between hospitals and blood transfusion banks primarily, but not exclusively, in Nottinghamshire. In critical situations, blood or other medical items need to be delivered urgently in order to help save a patient’s life. Our vehicles, with their distinct Hi-Viz livery, can quickly but safely get through heavy traffic to reach the destination sooner. We also support the provision of donor breast milk, collecting from mothers across our region and delivering to Milk Banks, and subsequently delivering the treated, frozen milk back to our local hospitals – a vital service for the well-being of premature babies. We rely solely on our volunteers time, private donations and corporate sponsors to keep us rolling and, in return, saving the NHS thousands of pounds in transport costs so that more money can be directed to front-line services and patient care. Please consider a small donation to help us save lives.

✨ Blood Bikes Social 🫶🏼
As blood bikers, we stay in touch on shift, but nothing beats getting together to unwind and share a meal 🥘
A massive thank you to Gurkha Kitchen Nottingham for hosting over 50 of us. Safe to say we took over a huge chunk of the restaurant!
The atmosphere, food & hospitality were absolutely incredible. Andeep and his team looked after us like we were family. They do an incredible amount of work for charities and donated us a fantastic prize for our recent Easter raffle too.
Chadai Bhetaula our friends ❤️

🚨 BIG FLEET NEWS! 🚨
We are absolutely ecstatic to announce a significant investment into the future of Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes! Thanks to the incredible support from NK Motor Group , we’ve just added £140,000 worth of brand-new Kia Sportages to our fleet. 🚙💨
🤷🏼♀️ Why this matters?
- Reliability: Newer vehicles mean zero downtime. When the call comes in, we’re ready, day or night.
- Sustainability: These cars will serve our local NHS Trust (and beyond) for years to come.
- Efficiency: Lower maintenance means more of your donations go exactly where they should, keeping us on the road.
We never charge the NHS a single penny for our services. Every mile we cover is powered by our 160+ amazing volunteers and your generous donations.
Huge thanks especially to Gary Askam, Mark Burrel & Kim Stuteley at NK Kia Derby looking after us and keeping us road ready! 🚗🚨🩸
