Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes were honoured to lead the convoy from North Weald Airfield, Essex to Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire in honour of Grace O'Malley-Kumar, in a Ride of Remembrance on 19th May 2024, raising funds for the Grace O’Malley-Kumar foundation. Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes proudly unveiled a Blood Bike at the event that we have named Grace, honouring the legacy of this young medical student who was killed whilst heroically trying to protect her university friend just after 4am on 13th June 2023.
Grace was studying to be a Doctor and following in the footsteps of her loving parents Sinéad and Sanjoy. During the pandemic Grace trained to vaccinate the public and would ride her Vespa to the vaccination clinic, heroically serving the public at a time many of us were scared. The biker community were proud to come together to honour our fellow biker, Grace.
By naming this Blood Bike in her honour, Grace’s name can continue to have a positive effect on the lives of people across Nottinghamshire when the public see us delivering our life saving service for the NHS, on Grace’s bike.
